Marquis de Lafayette, Commander of the National Guard The Assembly will be restored as soon as the immediate military threat to the capital is gone. To the patriotic soldiers of l’Armée du Nord, I ask you to abandon your traitorous commander, who would rather spill French blood for the bidding of his Breton masters than defend France from the tyrants of the east. I ask you to abandon him and join the honorable command of l'Armée du Rhin, which now is the only true force standing between your families and the Prussian and Austrian barbarous hordes. Ambassador Short, I approve of your Petition To Expand The American Embassy, though I lament the fact you feel Paris unsafe and personally guarantee your security in our great city. In regards to the Petition Regarding Maritime Trade, that will require further discussion, though I tentatively support it. Though the Bretons may have been mislead by the madman Charles Armand "Tuffin," they do not deserve famine. I fully support the Modification to the Royal Veto as proposed by our illustrious King. Though the spirit of '91 lives on, some modifications must be made to our constitution to improve the general efficiency of government.

311x640 Koca Yusuf Pasha, Ambassador of the Ottoman Empire I am Koca Yusuf Pasha, Grand Vizier of the Ottoman empire. Our glorious sultan has determined that with the chaos in France an emissary capable of wielding the full resources of the ottomans is necessary. The ottoman empire and france have had a long and fruitful alliance, and this confusion concerns us. Are we allied with the loyal monarchists? The republicans? Who has our loyalties? Who benefits us? These are the mazes i have been sent to navigate. Currently I am looking towards giving our support towards the monarchists with the recent hostilities against Paris.

I can only say to my troops, 'i'm sorry'. I have failed to protect the crown of France. We must continue the siege of Paris, it is our only chance to restore the Kingdom of France. Do not give up, do not lose your confidence in the king, this pretender can give you nothing.

quote:Soldiers of the Army of the North, you may not know me. Knowing me, you may doubt my loyalty to your country. Hear me now: I am Karl Josef von Bachmann, a Baron of the Canton of Glarus. I have proudly served in the armies of France since I was fifteen years of age, following in the footsteps of my noble father, himself commander of the Swiss Guard. I had that selfsame honour just some short months past, and my Guardsmen gave their utmost in defence of the King at the Palace of Tuileries. Those were men of duty and honour, and I wept to hear how few survived, and dread what horrors the Jacobins have planned for those who did not succumb to their wounds. To my Army, Do not be swayed by the words of the pretender kings Robespierre and Lafayette. Their only wishes are to see France in ruin its people divided those who disagree with them put down like dogs. This is not a fight against Paris, this is a fight against tyrants hiding as Republicans. They hide and mock the rest of France while it burns under the terror of the maniac De Sade. They mock our constitution and everything it stands for, to them meaningless paper to be disregarded. They mock our laws, replacing them with their own; not passed through the legislation but through pure fiat. We are fighting a war against tyrants. We will continue to blockade the city of Paris for as long as it takes, no goods shall enter or leave the city under any circumstances, the tyrants will be bled dry.

Father de Roux, last time I checked, the Enragés were openly calling for an end to the state, the abolition of private property, and the deaths of most people who were not one of their elect few. While I appreciate your republican sentiments, it's hard to believe that you are interested in contributing to the political process now. Furthermore, I reject and denounce the notion that this is anywhere near an absolute monarchy. As stated upon numerous occasions, the Legislative Assembly will be reconvened as soon as the state of siege is lifted, without any further delay. In the interim, I invite the representatives of the people to correspond with me via post, so that the most effective measures can be implemented without delay. To the Army of the North posted:Your general says that he "will bleed the tyrants dry." Do you not realize that it is not the tyrants who would starve in a siege, but your wives? Your children? You starve fellow Frenchmen at the orders of a man loyal to a deposed criminal! Is that why you joined the Army? Is that what you signed up to do? Or did you join to fight the enemies of France, of the French people? I ask that you do so now!

What right do you have to decide when we can and cannot have democracy Robespierre, and I have never called for the death of anyone except the King and other reactionaries, which I hope you yourself would agree with, is out of self defence. 196x250 Alexis Le Veneur de Tillières, commandant l'Armée du Rhin A letter dictated and sent to various statesmen of the Republican and Monarchist factions Warm tidings to you, friends. Though I'm truly saddened by the state of France's government and armed forces, it gives me great hope to know that the finest minds and hearts of this nation are working diligently towards a settlement that will return peace, justice, and prosperity back to us. I will make this brief, as I'm sure you all have pressing duties: the Army of the Rhine remains neutral in this conflict. My men and I are charged with defending France's eastern border, and even as I put ink to paper the menace of Prussia and Austria grow. They look upon the chaos in Paris as vultures look upon an injured stag, their Germanic lust for bloodshed growing as they perceive France slowly weakening. But France is not yet so weak as to not defend herself! This is where I must ask your aid. My army will defend the banks of the Rhine to the last, but I need more volunteers. This morning I have dispatched riders throughout Alsace to call upon whoever is able to join me at the Grand Camp in Strasbourg. I humbly request whatever forces you can spare for my defenses here, no matter how slight. This is much to ask of a leader, especially when your own struggles are so important. I can only hope to remind you all that no matter what kind of France you seek to build, none of your ambitions will come to fruition should a foreign power conquer this nation before she achieves her potential. God bless you all, and God bless France!

Marquis de Lafayette, Commander of the National Guard I put forward the following emergency legislation for the transitional government to immediately implement: The Emergency Emigre Act: As the emigres and their allies openly prepare to wage open and bloody war against France, we have no other choice but to implement harsh measures against them and any others who would flee their country. All emigres, if caught by the French authorities, will be condemned to 20 years in prison as a minimum. If they are known to have supported any of the enemy armies mobilizing to invade France, they will be imprisoned for life. All property of all emigres will be seized immediately by the state, and any attempts at escaping this through loopholes will be treated unmercifully. The Emergency Levee Act: As our armies stand, especially as some have turned on their own countrymen rather than defend our borders, they cannot hold back the tide of tyrannical Europe. So it is now necessary that the patriotic commandant l'Armée du Rhin be granted full power of conscription, to enforce and implement as he sees fit. Refusal to enter the service upon receiving the call to arms from France will be a sentence of Treason. The Emergency Budget quote:Contributions Directes: We must immediately stop this growing inflation, replacing it with much more manageable debt. I propose we send our greatest financial and diplomatic minds to negotiate the purchasing of debt from Amsterdam. Several less immediately necessary funds have been cut, while those that would have a sudden beneficial impact have been risen. All military funding will go to the Army of the Rhine and the Expeditionary Army.

King Louis Philippe I, "Le Roi Egalité" I support General Lafayette's proposals. Drastic measures need to be taken now to eliminate the threats to our Republic. You have my personal assurance that once we have secured Paris and ended the siege by the Breton Puppet Jean-Baptiste Donatien de Vimeur, the Legislature shall be reconstituted and the Republic shall arise stronger than ever! The Breton Puppet Donatien would rather needlessly siege Paris than fight France's true enemy, the Prussians! He and the other Monarchists care not for the safety of France, they will lie cheat and steal for Louis XVI and the Breton fools than do their actual jobs and protect France! As such, I am personally offering rewards of 100,000 livres for the King, 75,000 for Tuffin, 50,000 each for Donatien and Georges Cadoudal, and 25,000 for each member of the Royal Family. I also commend General Alexis Le Veneur de Tillières for his dedication to protecting France from the threat of the Prussian army. France needs more committed, noble men like him in these trying times. God bless him, God bless our armies, and God bless France!

Olympe de Gouges, patriot Marquis, You say that you are against tyrannical Europe, yet many such freethinking men would never pay a single thought towards the stifled nature of our nation's women. France stands with millions of patriotic Frenchwomen ready to do their duties for la patrie. In which case, would you not likewise revive the Regulating Camp Followers proposal so that this nation's militaries will acknowledge women the way that they should?
