Seven Big Questions That Must Be Answered


There are seven big questions that MUST be answered before we even begin to plot a story for any game using our engine. -- Rob


  • 1) What is the scope, the granularity, of our story? How many plot twists? How many acts?

  • 2) What is the mission structure of our game?

  • 3) How does non-primary-mission-arc stuff "fit" or "connect" with our story, if at all?

  • 4) How do we "storify" non-primary-mission-arc stuff?

  • 5) Do we have a character or an avatar as a playable entity?

  • 6) What is the definitive and final list of our Story Delivery Methods?

  • 7) Do we have multiple playable characters? If so, how do multible playable characters affect our Story Delivery Methods?

I have tentative answers for some of these. That's not enough.

You'll find that I'll keep asking these questions over and over, because it's nearly impossible to move forward until they are answered.
