There it is. Big, yellow, and strange. At this distance, most of the weird effects aren't so obvious. Just a faint ache if you stare at it too long. You can see one of the Spiracles, the little patch of white. These lead from the outside to the inside (or the reverse). These are deadly to terrestrial lifeforms. They serve as a vital metabolic step in the 'whistle-rat' cycle. To the left, you can see what functions as the ass end of the City. Waste heat and other products are emitted there. Normally, this would be a deadly area, but this City is quiescent. The low level radiation there is easily screened by our hardsuits.
